Another HOT New Music update. And that’s just because today is my birthday! After the jump you can get hits by Ne-Yo, Brandy, Omarion, Atozzio, RL, I-15, Claude Kelly, Lil Eddie, Rock City, Tank, James Fauntleroy, Marques Houston, Mario, One Chance and Omarion. Check it!
According to a report at AOL Black Voices, singer Omarion has been dropped from his label home of Columbia Records.
After his group B2K went its separate ways in December 2003, the 23-year-old signed a solo deal with the Sony imprint. Since then, Omarion has released two solo discs through Sony: 2005’s O and 2006’s 21. Last year, he released Face Off, a collaborative album with Bow Wow, whom he had previously worked with during the highly successful Scream Tour series. Aside from music, Omarion has gained experience as an actor as well, playing roles in several movies and television shows.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America’s web site, O and Face Off both earned gold certifications, while 21 didn’t. He and Bow Wow’s Scream Tour IV: Heartthrobs Live DVD from 2006 was also certified gold. His record with B2K, of course, is more lucrative, with the group earning three gold plaques and one platinum certification between their four albums.
The report speculates that Omarion may end up signing with Capitol Records if they hire former Sony executive David McPherson as Executive Vice President and head of Urban Music at the label. Otherwise, he may end up at Motown, since his management and production company, The Ultimate Group (TUG), has a deal with the label. Through said deal, TUG/Universal Motown released Naked and Veteran, the last two albums from Omarion’s friend Marques Houston. SOURCE
Syleena Johnson will release her new cd Chapter 4: Labor Pains in September and this track titled It Is True, produced by Toxic, is supposed to be the first single
Anyway they just premiered the second video off their crappy collabo cd Face Off which sold, so far, like 110,000 units, that in my opinion are way too much.
“I want to be on the record as saying that “Raz B” Thorton and Ricardo
Thorton are lying regarding Chris Stokes. Chris is a father figure to
myself, and many others in the industry. He’s guided us, helped raised us
and is nothing more than an inspiration and someone I respect to and look
up to. I have spent countless hours, days, weeks and months with the man
since the age of 5 and have never once seen him behave inappropriately.
He’s married to my aunt and I know this man very well. I stand behind him
with no question whatsoever,” said Omarion.
“I have grown up around Chris and this is crazy to me. These people
have damaged me, and my reputation and I won’t stand silent and will do all
within my means to speak the truth about this matter.”
There were no monster debuts this week, but a slew of hip-hop and R&B albums made an impression on the charts during the pre-Christmas rush.
Bow Wow & Omarion scored this week’s highest debut with their collabo album, Face Off, which landed at No. 11 and moved 107,000 copies in its first week out, according to Billboard.
Birdman has been in some legal trouble as of late, but his rap game seems to be on track. The Cash Money CEO’s 5 * Stunna debuted at No. 18, selling 86,000 copies with some help from guest artists Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fat Joe and surrogate son Lil’ Wayne .
R&B crooner Mario debuted at No. 21 this week with hissophomore effort Go!, which sold 77,000 copies. The disc features spots from Juelz Santana and Rich Boy.
Staten Island collective Wu-Tang Clan aired out their creative differences in the media but managed to debut at No. 25 this week, pushing 68,000 copies of their comeback album, 8 Diagrams.
Def Jam artist The-Dream, best known for penning hits including Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and J. Holiday’s “Bed,” debuted at No. 30 this week with 59,000 copies sold of his solo effort “Love/Hate.”
South Philly rapper Beanie Sigel debuted at No. 37 with his fourth album, TheSolution, which moved 49,000 units in its first week out. The disc features guest spots from R. Kelly,Scarface, Ghostface and Styles P.
Leaka oggi questa nuova traccia dall’album Face Off in uscita l’11 dicembre.
