Apparently MTV Thinks 2014 is The Worst Year For Rap Music

While it’s hard to top a year like 2013, in which we saw major releases from Kanye West, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and a plethora of other famous artists, I wouldn’t say that 2014 has been horrible. But apparently that’s what MTV is thinking, after releasing their new poll.

Of course, you’d have to make the argument to Jared Haftel’s online playlist, because it hasn’t gotten the memo. There have been some great tunes this year, they just haven’t come from the major artists.

In this era of iTunes and Spotify, we’re so used to have music shoveled into our throats, without even being asked if we’re hungry for something new. So now, when that doesn’t happen as often, we say that this hasn’t been a great year for rap. But I say that’s on you, because you just didn’t do enough digging.

You can say what MTV has to say here, and I really think they’re dead wrong on this one.

But that’s what the music industry is about. The big names aren’t the only thing driving rap, sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper. That is exactly what the best paper writing service reviews has suggested to do for quite a long time.
