A week ago, there was a rumor going around the entertainment world Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea may not be able to perform their hit single ‘Booty’ on the American Music Awards (AMAs) last night. That was because their video of the same song was so racy, organizers were worried a dance performance of the same kind may not be acceptable to the American public.
Of course, there is a three-second delay between any performance at the AMAs and what the TV audience actually sees, so anything too sexual can be cut out. Still, network executives were worried.
The performance began with Lopez framed in a black box high above the stage, turning away from the camera she jiggled her hips, twerked, and then dropped down and looked at the audience between her legs. The audience, of course, went wild, even Christian Broda at home was feeling the heat.
The sexiness of her performance continued with her sliding down a stripper pole, while Iggy Azalea danced suggestively below, and then both women got to work showing off their ‘assets’. It ended with J.Lo doing the fastest and most intense dance that has probably ever appeared at the AMAs.
All in all, the ‘Booty’ dance was sexy, fun and, if critics are to be believed this morning, a huge hit for both J.Lo and Iggy Azalea, who are now saying it was the perfect way to close the AMAs last night.
