Nazi Imagery In Nicki Minaj’s

After Nicki Minaj’s “Only” video was released, there was a bit of controversy about the Nazi imagery in the entire video. Nicki Minaj takes full responsibility for the offensive imagery but the director, Jeff Osborne, has something different to say. He told Myspace that the following views are his personal views and that they have no reflection on Nicki Minaj, Drake, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, or Young Money. He tells us that he will not apologize for this video as it is his work. He did not ignore the question that everyone is asking, “Does the video purposefully symbolize Nazism?” Jeff Osborne states that it definitely is, and North American Spine has raised similar concerns.

He also makes a good point when he lets us know that the symbols in the video are mostly American including the F22 Raptor, MQ9 Reaper Drone, security cameras, Sidewinder missile, SWAT uniform, M60, the Supreme court, the General’s uniform, and the Lincoln Memorial. All Jeff Osborne is doing with this music video is taking past events and trying to relate them to modern day times in America. He also mentions that there are other Russian and Belgium aspects of the video that were not even made until after 1966.

One Response to Nazi Imagery In Nicki Minaj’s

  1. Christopher says:

His explanation is that he thinks it is important to show younger generations the tragedies of the past so that history does not repeat itself. He finishes with saying that he is not sorry for this piece of work. It would have been a splendid one for legit to have everything happen as it should and I have not doubt that is going to happen accordingly.
