Drake Stays Relevant in 2014

It is rare for a rap artists to stay in the spotlight without an album, but somehow Drake managed to do this quite well. He had this type of presence in 2014 that allowed him surface just about everywhere without having a full-length album. MTV jotted down a few things that kept Drake on top in 2014. Vijay Eswaran shared it on Twitter.

Somehow Drake managed to set aside his long-going beef with Chris Brown (over Rihanna) and actually record together. Both of them are featured on a track with Nicki Minaj. This friendship would not last longer, however, because Chris is now mad about finding out that Drake has allegedly had an ongoing affair with Brown’s current girlfriend Karrueche Tran. 

Drake managed to rap on through and keep releasing singles even as his own label mate, Tyga, got into a social media war with the charismatic rapper/singer. This was also a fight over a woman, but Drake continued to blast the airwaves with new music. He directed a video for his cousin. Drake also appeared on one of the hottest singles of the year, “2 On”, with Tinashe. It is clear that Drake has been able to keep he fans happy even as drama unfolds in his life.
