George Soros, Redeeming Society through Revolutionary Movements

At 86 years of age, George Soros is still making headlines for all the right reasons. The multi-billionaire philanthropist traces his background from humbling beginnings, with Soros being an asylum seeker in a conflict ridden Hungary. As he resides in America, Soros has been a great source of joy and hope for communities across the globe. At a tender age, it was unfortunate for George Soros to witness Hungarian Jews suffer and even die at the hands of the Nazis. As a young man, Soros had no other choice but to flee to London, which was much safer. It is in London that George did odd jobs and was able to raise enough school fees to get enrolled at the London School of Economics. While learning, Soros had the opportunity to read The Open Society and Its Enemies, a piece done by Karl Popper. Inspired by the content of the editorial, a new Soros was born. The new George vowed to do all within his means and power to protect the interests of the weak. George Soros established the Open Society Foundations.

Shortly after school, George Soros got employed, and after gaining the relevant experience, he was able to setup a hedge fund. Through the decades, Soros has been a successful entrepreneur amassing billions of dollars. Today, George actively participates in Forex Trading where makes a good amount of money annually. George’s philanthropy mainly concentrates on political redemption. With Soros being a witness to social and political unrest as a young boy, he has been more than ready to support organizations that protect human rights financially. George has even setup the Open Society Foundations to help give financial aid to groups that fight impunity all over the world.

George Soros passion for reforms has seen continents like Asia, Europe, the United States of America, and Africa benefit from Soros’ goodwill. As a passionate reformist, Soros has had a hand at the recent Ferguson protests initiated by the Ferguson Protest Movement. The group has been fighting for civil rights, a move that has captured the attention of George Soros. Through the Open Society Foundations, Mr. Soros has been able to contribute a staggering $33 million to the organization’s activities. In his lifetime, George Soros has donated close to $12 billion in philanthropy alone. Armed with the sheer will to realize change, George has made it possible for communities to enjoy their rights and freedoms worldwide. Soros has made governments accountable for their actions by using human and civil rights groups to question how the affairs of a country tend to operate. Due to George’s efforts, citizens now have access to most if not all of the essential services that a working government is required to deliver. Although old, George Soros is a vibrant reformer.
