Brooklyn’s Don Diva is not a good cd and everybody knows it. Even herself, Foxy Brown is “devasted” by it and she states that it had supposed to be a street album and not a retail. She made a statement via Miss Info:
I heard this CD in its entirety for the first time just days ago and was devastated. Riddled with grief over an album that was seemingly so carelessly orchestrated, I sat down with the president of Koch to come to a decision on how to make the best of this situation. In another phase of my life and career I would have dealt with this situation with litigation, but for the benefit of my fans and in the wake of the profound spiritual cleansing I recently underwent in prison, I made the decision to settle our creative difference amicably. My fans have waited seven years for an in-store release and deserve my very best.”
Now Koch Records will re-release the album next month with five new tracks, videos and a little bit of promotions.
I guess what records could make the cd better…

Foxy Brown has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of menacing in a case where she attacked a woman with a Blackberry mobile device.
The rapper pleaded out in Brooklyn Criminal Court today, May 8th and a 2007 felony assault charge was tossed out, according to TMZ.com.
The rapper was sentenced to time served and offered letter of apology.
Arlene Raymond may attempt to sue Brown in a civil suit, but no legal action has been confirmed.
Brown was sentenced to time served and a letter of apology was submitted to the court.
Now that she’s also pled out of her Florida case, the legal radar is more or less clear. Brown has no court dates in the near future. Source

After serving eight months of a one-year sentence for a probation violation, Foxy Brown was freed from Riker’s Island on Friday (April 18).
The 29-year-old rapper (real name: is Inga Marchand) greet friends, family, fans and the media outside the jail, where she hugged and snapped photos for nearly everyone.
Wearing a head scarf, sunglasses and a leather jacket, Foxy emerged from the jail, and enjoyed freedom, while making quick comments for cameras, for the first time since last year, before hopping into a white Rolls Royce and
heading home.
The rapper was sentenced to three years’ probation in October 2006 for assaulting employees of a New York nail salon in 2004. In September 2007, a judge ruled she was not taking probation seriously, due to numerous violations and other arrests, and sent her prison for one year.
Now free, Foxy is said to focus on her fourth studio album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, which was pushed back, pending her release from prison.
She’s also rumored to begin filming a reality TV series. Her manager, Chazz Williams, said they have been in talks with several networks and studios to begin work on the project.

It seems that Foxy Brown can’t catch a break these days. SOHH has learned that her latest album has been pushed back yet again.
The Brooklyn bred MC will now see the release of her LP, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, re-scheduled for the second time. The album, which had been pushed back to a February 5th release date, now won’t be released until this spring. Chaz Williams, Foxy’s manager, told SOHH the decision was made so the rapper would not have to forgo promotion of the album and enjoy a proper release.
“The album release date has been changed at the direction of Foxy and Black Hand Management,” Williams said. “Foxy will be out in April and we wanted her to be able to participate in the promotion of this album.”
“This also gives us the opportunity to get out the proper visuals and videos to support her records, as well as the opportunity to do live radio promo and tour in support album release,” he added. “This was a business decision we felt served our best interest as an independent record company.”
This is just the latest setback for the troubled MC, who recently had a request for an early release from prison denied. Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson denied the request on Thursday (Jan. 24), saying Foxy failed to provide any medical proof that she needed to undergo a procedure to receive a cochlear ear implant. Foxy contends that she needs the implant to preserve her hearing. Her cochlear was reportedly damaged after she was punched during an altercation with another inmate.
A judge has denied Foxy Brown’s request to get out of jail early so she can go to California for an ear examination and for repair of an electronic ear implant.
New York State Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson ruled Jan. 24 that she will not let Brown go to Los Angeles’ House Clinic for the exam and repair of a defective cochlear implant, the Manhattan district attorney’s office reported Monday.
Brown, 29, revealed her hearing problems during a court appearance in 2004. Her petition to Jackson said that her condition was worsening in jail and that she faced serious harm to her hearing unless she had the cochlear implant reprogrammed and repaired.
Prosecutors say Brown can get the treatment she needs in New York, but her attorneys say she requires the treatment of specialists at House Clinic.
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was sentenced in September 2007 to a year in jail for violating probation. Jackson had put her on probation after she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault of two manicurists at a Manhattan nail salon in August 2004.
Ill Na Na will release Brooklyn’s Don Diva very soon even if she is still in jail.
This is the second single off the album and the track is Star Cry.

Incarcerated rapper Foxy Brown has asked a New York judge for an early release from the Rikers Island correctional facility so that she can travel to Hollywood to receive treatment for her hearing problems.
According to the New York Daily News, Fox attached a handwritten note to a motion filed by her lawyer requesting that sent Judge Melissa Jackson grant the release in time for a January 30 appointment.
“I am terrified of not hearing a fire alarm go off, or being locked in a cell, and someone not being kind enough to let me out, since not everyone understands the severity of my condition,” she explained in the letter. Foxy underwent special surgery in 2006 to treat her sudden and sever hearing loss. Now, the battery on a hearing device she uses has malfunctioned.
Her attorney, Laura Dilimetin, noted in her motion that there may be “one or two places” in New York that can fix the cochlear implant, but the Los Angeles based House Clinic is the only place that can properly repair the device.
The Daily News reports that the troubled Brooklyn MC insisted in her letter to Judge Jackson that she has a “good heart” and asked the court to consider the good things she has done that don’t get any press.
“’Foxy Brown gets into an altercation with a neighbor’ would be great front-page headlines, whereas ‘Foxy Brown brings Christmas toys to 30 disabled children’ would hardly be mentioned,” she reasoned.
