Lil Wayne Signs Jae Millz To His Label

    February 28th, 2008

Jae MillzAfter enduring years of false starts and label politics, New York MC Jae Millz has signed a new deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment imprint.

Weezy announced the signing during a recent performance in New Jersey when he called out to the Harlem lyricist from the stage. Millz made first drew attention as a ruthless competitor on the underground battle scene before releasing the single “No, No, No” through Warner Bros./Wanna Blow Entertainment in 2003. Although he enjoyed a healthy buzz from the single, his debut LP, Back to the Future never saw the light of day. Frustrated with his situation, he later inked a promising deal with Universal Records, but would ultimately end up sitting on the shelf there as well. After securing a release from Universal at the end of 2006, Millz announced that he was a free agent and prepared to give his rap career another shot.

Speaking with Complex magazine after Wayne’s announcement, Millz expressed enthusiasm about his new situation and revealed that he has also resolved his issues with Wanna Blow. “I’ve just been keeping stuff low, but Young Money is what it is, and I’m still Wanna Blow,” he explained to Complex. “The “Holla At A Playa Remix” is going to be out in two weeks. We’re moving, Young Moola baby!”
