Slim Thug Preps New Album On Koch Records

    August 4th, 2008

    Via HHDX:

Slim Thug is back on his grind again – without Interscope/Star Trak/Geffen behind him. As DX reported a few months ago, Slim Thug was ready to bolt from Interscope in favor of an independent label for a number of reasons. Today we find Slim Thug preparing his latest release from his Boss Hogg Outlawz crew on Koch records.

I’m so ready for a new Slim album. It will be interesting to see how good it is without Star Trak behind it because Already Platinum was fire.

Slim Thug Cuts Ties With Interscope

    April 16th, 2008

Houston native Slim Thug recently revealed he is off of Interscope/Star Trak after asking to be released due to issues with the label. Slim Thug expressed complaints about the constant turnover of employees and he felt his debut album, Already Platinum, wasn’t handled properly.

He will be a free agent by the end of this week and insists there are no hard feelings between either parties. “We all came up with something we could all agree with,” explained Slim Thug.

His next set project is to feature the Boss Hogg Outlawz and is to be released through Koch Records. He will then release his second solo album entitled Boss Of All Bosses in the last summer.

“It’s gonna be different. You gonna hear a lot more Houston records,” Slim said of his sophomore solo project. “The feedback I got from my fans [about the] last album was that they wanted to hear a lot more Houston records.

So I worked with people out of Houston, a bunch of producers I came up with. I did, like, 30 songs with these cats, so I really got the album done.I’m gonna get, like, two from Pharrell [Williams] and maybe work with a few other big producers, but keep it Houston.” SOURCE
